Blog Your Brains out: Who is on the scrap heap?

August 25th, 2008

Some teams have already started pruning their list ahead of 2009. Brendan Lade, Damian Peverill and Jason Johnson have been given their marching orders. Who else do you think deserves to go?

Jeff: Would you get rid of Barry Hall because he looks like a serial killer these days?

Paul: Would you get rid of Jeff Farmer because he’s bad for the ethos of the club?

Tell us which players from your club you would cull at the end of season 2008.

Blog Your Brains out: Why should Tasmania have an AFL team?

August 4th, 2008

Tasmania’s push for an AFL team is gaining momentum with the announcement of a $4 million sponsorship deal with Mars. Do you think Tassie should have their own team and what should it be called?

Jeff: I’d like to see the Tasmania Beards because the map of Tassie actually looks like a strap on beard.

Paul: The Maps or the Apples. I’m not too sure, I’ve never been to Tasmania.

Would you like to see a Tasmanian team and what would you call it?

Blog Your Brains out: Best way to celebrate a milestone?

July 29th, 2008

Chris Judd was rather akwardly chaired off after the Blues win over the Bulldogs, prompting us to pose the question: Is there a better way to celebrate a milestone than chairing a player off?

Jeff: I think they need a specially designed vehicle for chairing people off the ground.

Paul: Maybe at the end of the game Chris Judd could have bent over and they stick a malteaser up his arse.

Tell us what you think is the best way to celebrate a milestone…

Blog Your Brains out: When is it okay to miss a game of footy?

July 23rd, 2008

Marty Pask of the University Blues is going to miss crucial games at the pointy end of the season to go and watch fiance Liesel Jones compete at the Beijing Olympics. It begs the question: When is it okay to miss a game of footy?

Jeff: Billy Joel tickets go on sale this friday. Would that be a good enough reason to miss a game of footy?

Paul: Sixteen rounds into 2008 and I don’t have an opinion on this one.

What would you say constitutes a good excuse to miss a game of footy? Leave us a comment below.

Blog Your Brains out: Which AFL player could be an olympian?

July 18th, 2008

With the Beijing olympics just around the corner, we’re wondering: which AFL players could have won a gold medal for us and in which sport?

Jeff: I reckon Brett Burton in the high jump.

Paul: Barry Hall in the boxing… what about Cyril Rioli in the Rythmic Gymnastics?

Tell us which AFL player you think may have missed their calling…
