ETech Interacts.
If there is one conference that should know how to provide a fantastic interactive experience, even for those not at the event, it’s ETech, or O’Reilly’s Emerging Technology, which started yesterday. They haven’t let us geeks down either. They’ve got the ETech Coverage for Weblogs, Articles, Press (RSS), the Wiki, the iCalendar data, Flickr photostream (RSS), and Flickr tags (RSS). If you’d rather one place to see everything, they even have the ETech Attention Stream Archive (RSS) which includes the BluetoothBot that checks for mobile phones entering and leaving the conference and announces the owner. Weblogs Inc. even have a blog dedicated to the event, Blogging ETech (RSS).
Go on. I dare you to miss something.
Today I realised that I should have just bitten the bullet and paid my way to the event. Getting from the West Coast of Australia to San Diago isn’t a cheap expense, so it never seemed like an option. However, if I list the events I would love to attend and the people I’d get to chat with, it seems like it would be worth slapping down the bills. Tim O’Reilly on News From the Future, Stewart Butterfield and Cal Henderson from Ludicorp on Web Services as a Strategy for Startups, Jeff Bezos, Wendy Seltzer, who I spoke with the other day for The Gadget Show #4, Cory Doctorow from Gadget Show # 1 …… ah man, the list goes on and on.
So I’ve subscribed to all the feeds, and anticipate having information overload by the end of the week.
Ewan, from The Mobiles Show is there. I’m counting on you man! Get us some hot interviews.
